API is pleased to announce that we have launched two new and improved teach abroad programs in China!
In our new Teacher’s Assistant in China program, participants will teach English 15-20 hours a week in a Chinese primary or secondary school in exchange for reduced room and board. This is a great opportunity to live in China for 1-3 months and enjoy both cultural and linguistic exchange! For more details, please click here.
This program is open to any current college student or graduate who is at least 21 years old, and offers a budget-friendly way for study abroad alumni, non-traditional students, or cost-conscious travelers to enrich their personal lives while gaining professional experience abroad. It begins with a multi-day on-site orientation in Chengdu or Shanghai, after which TAs may be placed in schools throughout China.
The second is our updated Teach in China program. Participants will teach English 20-25 hours a week in a Chinese primary or secondary school and be paid a monthly stipend for their work, in addition to receiving free housing and most meals. This is a great opportunity to live in China for 4-5 months and enjoy both cultural and linguistic exchange! For more details, please click here.
This program is open to any college graduate who is between the ages of 21-50 years old and has a TEFL certificate or two full years of teaching experience. (For those participants without a TEFL certificate or sufficient teaching experience, a 120-hour online TEFL course is available for an additional fee.) This program offers a budget-friendly way for study abroad alumni, teachers, or professionals to enrich their personal lives while gaining teaching experience abroad. It begins with a multi-day on-site orientation in Beijing, and teachers may be placed in schools throughout cities and towns in the following Chinese provinces: Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan or Zhejiang.
